My favourite local business: Moishes Steakhouse. It evokes fond memories of great meals and quality time spent together with my family. My grandfather sat at the same table almost every day for 47 years, the only patron to have a chair engraved with his initials after he passed away. After he died, his table was decorated with flowers and closed for a week in his honour out of respect. My family has had many memorable dinners at Moishe’s and to me it exemplifies Montreal.

My favourite local business: Schwartz’s Deli.  Aside from being a Montreal landmark with over 80 years of tradition, I chose Schwartz’s because it has stayed true to its core values.  Sometimes businesses try to do too much – to be all things to all people – but Schwartz’s has consistently delivered on its winning formulae of delivering a superior smoked meat experience in a modest but charming atmosphere.

StartUp Canada Women Founder’s Fund

The Women Founders Fund is the first joint initiative between Startup Canada and Evolocity Financial Group. Launched in August 2016, the fund aims to alleviate some of the financial barriers women face when starting up by providing micro-grants to support operations and growth.
